Digital 3D Reconstructions
May 24, 15.30-17.00
With introductions by:
- Patricia Lulof, Associate Professor of Archaeology at UvA
- Wim Hupperetz, Director Allard Pierson
- Arjan den Boer, 3D reconstructions and augmented reality Dompleinproject Utrecht at AB-C Media
New digital applications in 3D reconstructions allow for new research methods in the Humanities in conjunction with Creative Industries.
This Zwaartepunt Seminar on 3D Reconstructions explores ways of potential Faculty collaborations in the field with a special focus on the upcoming NWO calls for the ‘Topsector Creative Industries’.
As of 2012, the UvA RPA (Research Priority Agenda) Cultural Heritage and Identities hosts bi-monthly seminars that aim at initiating new
fundamental research and valorization opportunities in digitized heritage collections. As a new platform for joining the areas of Academic Research, Collections and Institutes, and Creative Industries, the expert meetings are meant to discuss ideas, needs and opportunities in a crossover setting, and to operationalize the potentials in structural cooperation between scholarly research, preservation and presentation and IT-applications for Cultural Heritage in the Digital World.
The seminars are hosted at the Heritage Laboratory (Erfgoedlab), at UvA Special Collections on Oude Turfmarkt 129 (Rokin).
Free of entrance, please register at T.Navarrete@uva.nl. The seminar’s expert meetings have limited access and therefore will
be podcasted online.
